Pillbox Projects
The pillbox projects were a two-part series projects. The first part was a research-based project focused on product design and redesign where I learned just how important each iteration of your idea can be. The second part of my project was when my group took the project in a different direction and used Figma to design and prototype apps that work as reminders to take your pills, while also serving other purposes that the customer also needed met, such as reminders to get prescriptions refilled or book yearly appointments. This project made it quite apparent how many customer needs stemming from the initial product need exist.
Pillbox Product Design
When working on this project, we first had to select a target customer. Our group selected busy on-the-go people who don't often have time for medication tracking and sorting. We next had to research why they use pillboxes and what grievances they have with them. We had to look into how we could make existing pillbox products better for this target customer.

Pill App Reminder Prototype
After researching pill boxes and the people who use them, as well as focusing on our target customer, our group chose to lean away from a physical pillbox and develop an app using Figma with reminders to take medications. This way, instead of using a pillbox to sort and remember to take certain prescriptions, the app would do this, it would also offer other services which can be seen in the image below. This app would have other features such as automatic prescription renewals and storing medical contacts. Much more information about this and our specific style choices is provided in the pdf document available to download at the button above.
